SING THE APOSTLES

Experienced singers required for Elgar's rarely performed masterpiece, The Apostles, singing with the combined forces of the award-winning Hallé and Hallé Choirs.

If you can sight read and love singing but haven't got the time to do it all year round or are already busy singing with another choir, then this project is for you. To complete the trilogy, the Hallé Choir begins rehearsals in March for a performance and recording of Elgar's The Apostles in May, and is looking for experienced singers to come and join the Hallé for this special project.

Concert and Recording
The concert, conducted by Sir Mark Elder, will take place in The Bridgewater Hall on Saturday 5th May, 2012, with internationally-renowned soloists, Rebecca Evans, Alice Coote, Paul Groves, Brindley Sherratt and Jacques Imbrailo.

The performance will be recorded LIVE at The Bridgewater Hall. The Hallé and Hallé Choir are already the proud winners of Gramophone awards for The Dream of Gerontius (2009) and The Kingdom (2011), and this recording will be released at a later date on the Hallé's own CD label.

Rehearsals
Led by Frances Cooke, Director of the Hallé Choir, you will be put through your paces, working on expression, technique, musicality and performance, as well as the notes, in preparation for the concert and recording. You can expect rehearsals to be intense, rewarding and fun.

Rehearsals will be held in venues close to Manchester City Centre.

Cost
There is a one-off charge of £50 (£20 concs) which is payable to the 'Hallé Concerts Society' by the first rehearsal. This contributes towards the costs of auditions, music hire and rehearsals.
