Calling all children, parents and grandparents. Join Jamie Phillips, Alasdair Malloy and Santa’s little helpers, the Hallé, for the annual fun-filled festive family concert, full of sing-alongs, jingle-alongs, seasonal surprises, orchestral antics and audience amazement.

The perfect way to start a family Christmas, this cracker of a concert is so popular, even Father Christmas takes time out to attend. Why not get into the spirit and dress up as a snowman or Rudolph?

If you have any sleigh bells – homemade or real – then bring them along and join in.

Bring all the family along to the big screening of The Snowman, the animated classic by Raymond Briggs. The film will be accompanied live by the Hallé performing Howard Blake’s beautiful score – including the magical song ‘Walking in the Air’. In the first half of the concert, join the dinosaurs and presenter Tom Redmond, as they romp with the Hallé. This brand new piece for all the family, Dinosaurumpus composed by Steve Pickett, is based on the popular children’s book by Tony Mitton and Guy Parker-Rees. To warm us up for this special family treat, the Hallé relive the magic of Frozen in Alasdair Malloy’s Fantasy.

This programme is also being performed at The Bridgewater Hall on Tuesday 22 December at 4pm, Wednesday 23 December at 1:30pm and 4pm.
