Giraffes Can't Dance

Giraffes Can't Dance

With waltzing warthogs, rock ‘n’ rolling rhinos and lions that dance the tango, the Hallé's latest interactive concert for families is a fantastically fun introduction to the instruments of the orchestra performed by nine Hallé musicians and a professional dancer.

Giraffes Can’t Dance
is a funny, touching and triumphant story about a giraffe who thought he couldn't dance but, with a little help from a cricket and the right kind of music, discovered he was a brilliant boogier!

The concerts are most suitable for children aged 3-7 and the music, based on the popular children’s book Giraffes Can’t Dance, has been specifically composed by the Hallé’s Education Director, Steve Pickett.

In addition to playing their instruments, the musicians will act, sing and dance! Come to Hallé St Peter’s for a wonderfully colourful jungle romp, perfect for your half-term activities.

Each concert will last for approximately 40 minutes.

Two more performances of Giraffes Can't Dance also take place at 11.30am and 1.15pm on 28 October

Prices: £5 for adults and £3 for children (no booking fees)
Tickets are non-refundable

Address: Hallé St Peter’s, 40 Blossom Street, Ancoats, Manchester, M4 6BF

Family Friendly Facilities:
Everyone is welcome at Hallé St Peter’s. We have unisex baby changing facilities and a potty, training toilet seat and step stool for little people who need to use grown-up toilets and sinks. The café across the road is relaxed, welcoming and friendly and the staff are happy to warm up baby food and milk.

Hallé: Christmas - Family Concert

Hallé: Christmas - Family Concert

Calling all children, parents and grandparents. Join Jamie Phillips, Alasdair Malloy and Santa’s little helpers, the Hallé, for the annual fun-filled festive family concert, full of sing-alongs, jingle-alongs, seasonal surprises, orchestral antics and audience amazement. The perfect way to start a family Christmas.

This cracker of a concert is so popular, even Father Christmas takes time out to attend. Why not get into the spirit and dress up as a snowman or Rudolph?

If you have any sleigh bells – homemade or real – then bring them along and join in.
