Set Works Concert
THE ORCHESTRA THROUGH THE AGES
Featuring set works for GCSE, AS and A-level
A new venture for 2018, on the request of teachers and music educators across the country, is the Hallé’s dedicated set works concert for pupils in Year 9 through to sixth form. The Orchestra Through The Ages, to be conducted by Jonathon Heyward and presented by Tom Redmond, will take you on a guided tour of music from Baroque to film scores and will feature a number of orchestral works from the set works syllabus of AQA, WJEC and Edexcel exam boards for GCSE and A-Level music. The concert will give a brief history and musical analysis of these pieces as well as feature soloists from the Royal Northern College of Music, all accompanied by a world-class orchestra.
The Orchestra Through The Ages concert is held in collaboration with The Bridgewater Hall Community Education Trust and the Royal Northern College of Music.
