Family concerts

The Hallé performs specially designed concerts for all the family from little Johnnie to Grandma! The concerts take place on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm and are over by 5pm. They are fun, informal and participatory. As a guide, we particularly recommend these concerts for children of primary school age, but everyone is welcome.
From 2pm, a host of magicians, face painters, jugglers and local performers will fill the stunning Bridgewater Hall to entertain you before the concert, so make sure you explore the foyers from top to bottom and discover them for yourselves.
Why not get into the spirit of each concert by wearing fancy dress?
Details regarding Family Concerts in the 2012-13 season will be posted in due course.
Children's Workshops
Before each of our family concerts there is an interactive workshop aimed at children aged 6 and above. Taking place from 10am until 2pm, the children work with top Manchester artists led by the Hallé's inspiring Education Director, Steve Pickett to play instruments, dance, sing and make costumes all based on the theme of the concert in the afternoon.
The children perform their work to an audience of family and friends at the end of the workshop, so come along to discover what they have achieved.
Children need to wear comfortable clothes, bring a packed lunch and their musical instrument (if they play one), but the most important thing to bring is their imagination!
How to Take Part
Tickets for these wonderful workshops cost only £12.50 per child. There are only 40 places available so make sure you book now to make the most of your day with the Hallé. Call The Bridgewater Hall Box Office on 0161 907 9000.
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that children arrive for a prompt start at 9.45am and that parents feel comfortable leaving their children behind with the workshop leaders. Workshop tickets are non-refundable.
