Structure, Governance and Management
The Society’s Board of Trustees is responsible for its affairs and the Chief Executive reports to the Board on behalf of the Management and Staff. The Board consists of a maximum of 13 members appointed as follows:

Elected: Nominated by 10 members of the Society, unless recommended by the Board
Nominated: Nominated by Manchester City Council (1) and AGMA (2), appointed by the Board

The Board meets approximately 10 times a year to review strategy and operational performance and to set operating plans and budgets. Day to day management is delegated to the Chief Executive.

The Hallé has a number of discs on its own CD label, featuring composers such as Elgar, Wagner, Colin Matthews, Debussy, Richard Strauss and other English composers. The label includes award-winning discs such as Wagner's Götterdämmerung and Elgar's Violin Concerto with Thomas Zehetmair as soloist.

Welcome to the Hallé’s family of ensembles!

The Hallé offers a range of regular, local and free ensemble experiences for young people aged 8 –19 years. It also offers adults (aged 18+) the chance to sing in one of the best symphony choruses in the UK.

The Hallé's award-winning Education Programme reaches over 35,000 participants a year principally by placing Hallé musicians in the community, in schools, youth clubs, community centres and young offenders organisations.
