Learning & Engagement

The Hallé’s Education Programme exists to create a wider enjoyment and understanding of music in all sectors of the community, especially those who do not traditionally come to the concert hall, by providing a range of unique opportunities to participate in music and other creative art forms.

The focus of the award-winning programme is mainly on Greater Manchester but we also work in the other areas of the North West and beyond where the Hallé performs regularly, such as Nottingham and Sheffield, and in adjacent regions to Greater Manchester, such as Cheshire.

The Hallé Education Team are running a special Applied Gamelan Day and Focus on Gamelan week from Monday 3rd to Sunday 9th June 2013 incorporating activities for schools, music professionals and the general public.

Hallé CDs, Downloads and Accessories

The Hallé has a number of discs on its own CD label, featuring composers such as Elgar, Wagner, Colin Matthews, Debussy, Richard Strauss and other English composers. The label includes award-winning discs such as Wagner's Götterdämmerung and Elgar's Violin Concerto with Thomas Zehetmair as soloist. The latest release is Elgar's The Apostles.

Welcome to the Hallé’s family of ensembles!

The Hallé offers a range of regular, local and free ensemble experiences for young people aged 8 –19 years. It also offers adults (aged 18+) the chance to sing in one of the best symphony choruses in the UK.
