The Hallé Education programme aims to create a wider enjoyment and understanding of music in all sectors of the community; to engage with those who do not traditionally come to the concert hall; to provide opportunities to participate in music and other creative art forms and to actively search out and connect with new audiences.
In order to achieve these aims, the programme is divided into five key areas:
1. Concerts for Schools - annual Hallé for Youth concerts at The Bridgewater Hall and Hallé Schools Roadshow concerts.
2. School Projects - work with young people and their teachers supporting the National Curriculum for music, including special needs work.
3. Promoting instrument playing - this strand runs through both school and community based projects.
4. Community Projects - the programme aims to engage with all sectors of the diverse community that the Orchestra is based in by working with groups in their own settings.
| 5. Gamelan - one-off workshops and residencies with the Hallé's exotic orchestra of Indonesian tuned percussion instruments. | |
