World Music for Little Ones World Music for Little Ones comprises two different projects: one singing and the other storytelling. Taking songs from around the world, a singing expert teaches the children the songs and a trio of musicians the helps the children to design simple world music accompaniments using classroom percussion instruments. The stories project offers a choice of two stories: The Tree of Life or The Tortoise who wanted to fly. Initially a writer works with the children on some simple creative writing exercises, followed by work with the Hallé musicians to set the creative writing to music and learn the songs. Both projects comprise three 2-hour sessions and conclude with a final short performance for the rest of the school and parents.

Adopt-a-player This project involves a class 'adopting' a Hallé musician who visits the school for two sessions prior to the class visiting The Bridgewater Hall to attend a concert.
The first session involves the musician playing and talking about their instrument and about life as a professional musician. The musician also gives an introduction to the music that the children will hear in the concert.
The second session has a similar structure but also includes a simple creative music workshop. In Secondary Schools, this could involve a coaching session with a music group from within the school - an instrumental group, a band or the school orchestra.
On the evening of the concert, the children are met by their adopted player in the foyer of The Bridgewater Hall before attending the performance.

In addition to promoting solo and ensemble performance, this project will also focus on developing general musicianship and students' technical facility. Another key focus will be to offer further training, development and guidance for teachers already in place at the setting, so that work achieved on the project may be followed up and have a lasting and tangible impact.

As part of the scheme, the pupils may have the opportunity to tour The Bridgewater Hall and to attend a concert.
