Welcome to the Hallé, Britain's longest-established symphony orchestra, founded in Manchester by Sir Charles Hallé in 1858. The Hallé's Music Director is Sir Mark Elder CBE.
Travelling to concerts this weekend. Auditions for The X-Factor are taking place at Manchester Central (opposite The Bridgewater Hall on Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July. There is likely to be a higher than usual demand for parking in the area. Please allow extra time for your journey.
The Hallé Youth Orchestra is directed by the Hallé's newly appointed Assistant Conductor, Ewa Strusinska. The Hallé Choir and Hallé Youth Choir are directed by the Hallé's Choral Director James Burton and the latest addition to the Hallé family, the Hallé Children's Choir is directed by Shirley Court.
The Hallé CD label was re-launched in 2008, with a highly acclaimed recording of The Dream of Gerontius featuring Sir Mark Elder, Bryn Terfel, Alice Coote and Paul Groves. The Hallé's discs are available to buy online and come with FREE postage and packing to UK mainland addresses. |
