Sunday 26 July 2009, 7.30pm The Last Night of the Hallé Proms
Following the great success of her Manchester debut with the Hallé last summer, Irish soprano Ailish Tynan returns to The Bridgewater Hall as the star and presenter of our annual, traditional spectacular that is The Last Night of the Hallé Proms.
Ailish will perform a selection of Gilbert and Sullivan classics, and some operatic arias. You'll be able to enjoy these alongside such Last Night favourites as Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Jerusalem, Rule Britannia! and, of course, Elgar's ultimate crowd pleaser, Pomp and Circumstance March No.1.
'Papagena (Ailish Tynan) was vivacious and funny, especially in her giggly Dolly Parton disguise with leather mini skirt and cleavage.' Opera Now, reviewing The Magic Flute at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden
