Designed to appeal to both newcomers and the more experienced music-lover, the Hallé Opus One series takes place monthly from September to May. The nine programmes are given three times each month, on a Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Conductors and soloists represent the full range of those working with the Hallé, whether established figures or stars of the future. The repertoire is approachable, predominantly familiar, with a few delightful rarites; the series was inspired by, and remain focussed on organised groups as well as individuals.
