Manchester has long had strong connections to Ireland and in August this year those links and ties will be celebrated in spectacular style. To commemorate the 1916:2016 anniversary, the Irish World Heritage Centre in the city of Manchester, will be staging a one-off open air musical extravaganza to celebrate the spirit of Ireland, as part of the current 100 years celebration programme. This provides an opportunity for the Irish diaspora in the UK and the Northwest to participate in and celebrate the unique links between the area and Ireland. This concert is a unique fusion of Irish and English music led by the renowned Hallé and joined by distinguished Irish musicians Michael McGoldrick, Dezi Donnelly and Cara Dillon. Classical and traditional performances will be accompanied by spoken word and dance.
