Projects on offer
- Creative Music for the Terrified (and Not-So-Terrified)
- Recommended for Primary Teachers
This hour and half session, led by Hallé Education Director and the Schools’ Programme Manager offers ideas and tips for creative music making in the primary classroom. Using fun, practical and hands-on activities, the session is suitable for anyone interested in introducing or developing creative music opportunities in their school. Past experience is NOT required. - A Guide to the Percussion Trolley
- Recommended for Primary Teachers
Led by a member of the Hallé percussion section, this one and half hour session introduces and demonstrates many of the different types of the instruments commonly available in schools. This is a practical session with ideas on how to use the instruments both creatively and as part of an ensemble. - Hallé for Youth INSET
- Recommended for teachers bringing groups to the annual Hallé for Youth concerts
This hands-on session for teachers of all abilities will help to develop creative ideas for use in the classroom. The workshop will explore the theme and select pieces that will be featured in the annual Hallé for Youth concerts, though teachers not attending the performances are also welcome to attend the INSET session. - Leading School Choirs
- Recommended for all primary teachers and vocal leaders
Run by the Hallé’ Children’s Choir Director, Shirley Court, this course covers all aspects of managing a children’s or youth choir. Delivered over 6 twilight sessions and a masterclass, the programme finishes with a celebratory festival in June of 2022. The course is for teachers or vocal leaders who are passionate about continuing to improve the quality of singing within their school or youth group.
