Music and the Curriculum
Music and the Curriculum is a scaled-down version of the Hallé Education partnership programme, Hallé Inspire, combining music with other curriculum subject areas. Using music as a creative tool, the two-hour workshop aims to reinforce and deepen the children’s learning and understanding in a chosen curriculum area. The programme is recommended for pupils in Years 3-6, and is available to schools in Greater Manchester and across the north-west.
The project is designed for a class of 30 pupils and involves a two-hour session led by two Hallé musicians.
Some example themes include:
- The Titanic
- Evacuees and World War I
- Reversible and Irreversible Changes
- Rainforest
- Peterloo
- The Maya Civilisation
- The Anglo-Saxons
- The Skeleton
- Celebrating Differences
