Hallé Education creative music projects for Primary aged pupils in KS1 and KS2.

Projects on offer

  • Meet-a-Musician

      Recommended for Years 1-6
      Meet-a-Musician is a classroom-based workshop led by a Hallé musician based on a piece of music from the orchestral repertoire or a pre-agreed theme. This project can be combined with a visit to a Hallé concert (for Years 5 and 6) where pupils will hear their workshop piece performed by the Hallé (additional costs involved).

  • Start the Day the Hallé Way

      Recommended for all Primary years
      Start the Day the Hallé Way is a musical and fun-filled whole-school assembly based on the motto “Music is Fun”, led by two Hallé musicians. This assembly guarantees to wake you up and prepare you for the day ahead.

  • Creative Music Workshops

      Recommended for all Primary years
      Based on the themes from our popular Meet-a-Musician project, the Hallé Creative Music Workshops are longer practical sessions that use music to inspire the imagination! Pupils will compose their own music piece based on a theme or story. Examples include Fun with Form, A Walk in the Forest, Dinosaurs Meet and A Ship in a Storm.

  • Music and the Curriculum

      Recommended for Years 3-6
      These sessions combine music with other curriculum subject areas in a two-hour workshop led by two Hallé musicians. Example themes include: Titanic, Evacuees, Reversible and Irreversible Changes, Rainforests and Peterloo.

  • The Science of Sound

      Recommended for Years 3-6
      The Science of Sound is an interactive workshop for a whole year group designed around the KS2 science curriculum. Sessions are led by four Hallé musicians from the different sections of the orchestra.

    Prices per project start at £125 + VAT. Costs will vary depending on the project, number of players required, location and preparation requirements.
