This video focuses on our Manchester Adopt-a-Player project at Abraham Moss High School and Primary School in Autumn 2019. Pupils from the school adopted Hallé musicians, Christine Davey (violin) and Roz Davies (trombone). After attending a Hallé concert at The Bridgewater Hall the children returned to school to work creatively with their adopted Hallé musicians on their own version of Sibelius’s First Symphony. The pupils then performed their creation at a special project culmination held in the theatre at Abraham Moss Primary School on Monday 25 November.
The Hallé musicians were assisted by two music students, Victoria Schofield and Zoë Kundu, both studying at the University of Manchester. This short documentary of the project was made by video-artist, Mike Bailey, Abraham Moss Community School’s Production Manager.
