The Hallé Choir is offering choral singing scholarships to sing with the Hallé Choir. The scholarships will support singers, aged 18 and over, who are in full-time education and who wish to expand their singing experience by joining the Hallé Choir.

By becoming become full members of the Hallé Choir, the Choral scholars will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform major choral repertoire with the Hallé Choir and the Hallé Orchestra. This season has included Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms and Vaughan William’s Towards the Unknown Region and Sea Symphony, with conductors such as Sir Mark Elder and Sir Andrew Davis.

Choral scholarships will be awarded subject to a successful audition in September/October. Successful candidates will receive an award of up to £500 for the academic year (to be paid in 2 instalments, one in February and one in June.)

Applicants will be enthusiastic and experienced choral singers with excellent vocal abilities, and be able to demonstrate commitment and dedication to the choir and its activities

Choral scholars will be expected to fulfil the Hallé Choir commitment and attendance requirements and to adhere to the general rules and regulations for all choir members. They will also benefit from all the opportunities afforded to choir members, including vocal coaching.
