BAE Systems’ Choir, current title holders of the Hallé Corporate Choir competition, has been working with students from The Olive School in Blackburn. Part of Star Academies, The Olive School is a new, Muslim faith based primary school that opened in September 2013 which promotes fundamental British values and welcomes applications from all faiths.
The BAE Systems’ Choir, part of the Hallé’s family of Corporate Choirs, and its Hallé choirmaster, Luke Mather, shared their experience and knowledge with the Year 6 students, which ultimately led to a performance at the end of term on Friday 20 July.
Dave Holmes, Manufacturing Director Air said:
‘The Choir has enjoyed some great events so far this year and members are a real credit to the Company. The Choir has the ability to bring together people from all over the business and the contribution they make to the Company is outstanding. The final event of the summer was the collaboration with The Olive School. Making links with our local community and supporting the education of local children is vital in encouraging a diverse and thriving workplace of the future and I believe the Choir are such a positive force in helping BAE Systems to achieve this.’
The Hallé Corporate Choir Competition, established in 2013 with support from the North West Business Leadership Team after the Hallé was awarded the prestigious Lever Prize, has grown with several choirs rehearsing all year round and an Annual Corporate Choir Festival each summer.
In 2018, entries will be open to any company in the North West. If you are interested in the competition or would like to receive further details about workplace choirs please contact Susanna Caudwell, Corporate Partnerships and Major Trusts Manager on 0161 237 7018 or email email@example.com
