Hallé Workplace Choir Competition
Now entering its 8th year, the Hallé Workplace Choir Programme brings the Hallé’s rich choral heritage into the workplace. By tapping into our team of experienced and inspirational vocal leaders, the Hallé’s Workplace Choir Competition offers a unique approach to well being and team building by bringing together employees at all levels through an activity that builds trust, improves communication skills, and boosts staff morale.
Established in 2013 with support from the North West Business Leadership Team’s prestigious Lever Prize, the Competition invites businesses and organisations from across the North to compete for the chance to perform on stage with the Hallé at The Bridgewater Hall. Each choir entrant is paired with a professional Choral Conductor, with whom they rehearse a repertoire of two songs over the course of five sessions leading up to the Competition. Whilst the winning choir is honoured by performing exclusively during one of the Hallé’s Christmas concerts, all workplace choir singers are invited to join the Hallé’s Massed Choir that same evening—a wonderful opportunity to perform alongside one of the world’s greatest orchestras to an audience of 1,800.
Due to ongoing restrictions imposed by Covid-19, the 2020 Competition will be replaced by a one-off virtual project, bringing our choirs together to sing a newly commissioned piece written by composer Ollie Lambert.
Entries for the 2020 Workplace Choir Virtual Project are open to any company in the North West. For more information, please contact Charlie Widdicombe, Development Administrator on email@example.com.
