Now entering its 9th year, the Hallé Workplace Choir Programme brings the Hallé’s rich choral heritage into the workplace. By tapping into our team of experienced and inspirational vocal leaders, the Hallé’s Workplace Choir programme offers a unique approach to well-being and team building by bringing together employees at all levels through an activity that builds trust, improves communication skills, and boosts staff morale.
The Hallé runs choirs all year round in businesses across the North of England and the choral team are experienced in delivering rehearsals both in person and through digital means – supporting businesses through Covid-19 restrictions and for organisations with multiple sites across the country.
Now, more than ever, caring for the well-being of your staff and colleagues is of fundamental importance. The Hallé Workplace Choir programme succeeds in bringing colleagues together, despite challenges of remote working. The Hallé creates bespoke packages for each of its choirs, working to meet any specific needs and budget.
The Hallé Workplace Choir Competition
Established in 2013 with support from the North West Business Leadership Team’s prestigious Lever Prize, the Competition invites businesses and organisations from across the North to compete for the chance to perform on stage with the Hallé at The Bridgewater Hall. Each choir entrant is paired with a professional Choral Conductor, with whom they rehearse a repertoire of two songs over the course of five sessions leading up to the Competition. Whilst the winning choir is honoured by performing exclusively during one of the Hallé’s Christmas concerts, all workplace choir singers are invited to join the Hallé’s Massed Choir that same evening—a wonderful opportunity to perform alongside one of the world’s greatest orchestras to an audience of 1,800.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the Hallé Workplace Choir Programme went virtual in 2020, with our usual Competition in the autumn replace by a virtual project with a recording of a newly commissioned piece entitled ‘Hope’ by Manchester composer Ollie Lambert.
