Summer Season 2022


This summer, join Manchester’s orchestra – the Hallé, and a whole host of conductors, soloists, singers and actors for concerts filled with wizards, wardrobes, jazz giants, carry-ons and classics, all in the wonderful surroundings of The Bridgewater Hall.


Top of the Classics

Saturday 18 June 2022, 7.30pm

From Handel’s stately Coronation anthem, Zadok the Priest, and the dramatic opening chorus of Orff’s Carmina Burana to Karl Jenkins’ mathematically harmonic Palladio and Elgar’s spine-tingling Nimrod, this promises to be a true chart topper of a concert.

Wild Swans

Sunday 26 June 2022, 3pm

The Hallé Children’s Choir take centre stage in Lin Marsh’s magical, musical retelling of Hans Christian Anderson’s fairy tale, The Wild Swans, which also features students from Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre.

Best of British Cinema

Saturday 2 July 2022, 7.30pm

Stephen Bell and the Hallé guide us through a festival of British film favourites, with a wide selection of familiar scores packed full of drama, excitement and comedy.

Giants of Jazz

Saturday 16 July 2022, 7.30pm

A thrilling evening of jazz standards from the American Songbook and beyond, brought to you by one of the UK’s finest jazz musicians in this exciting new collaboration with Roderick Dunk, award winning vocalist Liane Carroll and the Hallé.
