Chair Endowments

The Chair Endowment programme is an opportunity for you to be associated with one of our players and link your name with a position in the Orchestra. Your gift will help us to ensure the Hallé continues to develop artistically, attracting and retaining musicians of the highest quality.

The key to a successful orchestra is the quality of the individual players. At the Hallé we are fortunate to have some of the most gifted musicians in the country whose talent and commitment help keep the Hallé among the finest orchestras in the world.

Chair Endowments are offered on an annual basis and are open to individuals or groups. Gifts can be made annually or via monthly Direct Debit:

  • Tutti Players (strings only), from £500 per annum
  • Principals and Sub-Principals, from £1,000 per annum
  • Section Leader, from £1,500 per annum

We are happy to discuss various possibilities on an individual basis, including combining a Chair Endowment and Patron gift.

Chair Endowers receive regular invitations to attend orchestral rehearsals and receptions as well as more informal opportunities to meet and get to know ‘their’ player. For full details of the benefits available to Chair Endowers, please download this PDF:

You can also support the Youth Ensembles through Chair Endowment, this costs £150 per annum. Funds raised this way go directly to support all the Youth Ensembles. For details of this scheme, please download the following PDF document:
